Let’s face it, we need them, not to check make up, or make sure an outfit matches, we do that with the small one in the bedroom. But we need the selfie mirror. An unnecessarily large mirror in the living room where we can take our Instagram worthy images.

This is the tool that will not only show off our attire that day, but also the surrounding living room features, two in one!

Having changed my selfie game with the wooden beauty from French Connection, I’m now on the hunt for a second. Something new and sassy.

I have one in my skinny navy hallway and it adds a totally different feel. Mirrors open up spaces so they are definitely needed for a small London flat. With skinny spaces its best to keep bits on the walls and try and stay away from resting them on the floors. However I still do love that vibe and have a couple of art pieces resting against the walls.

Searching through Instagram for home inspo like I do for almost everything, I came across BEN & AJA BLANC, a stunning brand creating simple and enchanting designs featuring this stunning silk fringe. I’ve not seen anything like it yet, they’re more like art! And they also mimic my moon theme at the moment. Available on request, I have emailed and am eagerly waiting, I’ll update with any info!

This is what I have, a large empowered mirror, standing proud as he leans against the wall.  A wall leaner has a slightly scandi feel to it, and the composition of it helps give the room some depth. For this the mirror needs to be super big, and also some type of design or feature on it gives a lot more character, they’re also harder to find as most some super simple. But if super simple is what you’re after maybe go for a copper edging. And then soften with lots of greenery — I love a plant!

I own a lumee phone case, and no I am not embarrassed about it. Its large and unnecessarily bulky, but the selfies that you get from it on a night out are the best! So when I came across the Timothy Oulton life-size lumee mirror I knew I needed it! It’s my latest find from my recent homeware search last weekend at Barker and Stonehouse in Battersea. Wayyyy out of my price range at £5,950.00, this is going to be one of those things that I save up for years, hoping to get when ‘I’m older’. Carrying on the mirror light obsession, one of my Instagram favourites: Marie Jedig, has an incredible scandi style apartment with this incredible wavy light up wall mirror. It’s glowy and out there and fabulous. Something that needs a minimal environment to sit in and take full centre stage. Designed by Ettore Sottsass, it retails at £5,624.42!
