Trainers for casual? YES. The trend started a couple of years ago with the Nike Free Runs and Roshe’s, everyone had a pair, including me! They were uber cool worn with jeans, dresses, everything but gym-wear. With Nike evolving time after time, the trend hasn’t budged, being a look supported throughout LFW from fashionistas all over the World.
When teaming up with Nike this time in collaboration of their new Nike Air VaporMax trainer, a true ‘walking on bubbles’ feeling, I knew I wanted to show you how I wear them outside the gym. Living in London, our lifestyles are fast, we go from the gym, to a meeting, straight to dinner and drinks, and nobody wants to be lugging their entire wardrobe with them. Maybe that’s why the trend started? Gym bunnies/commuters wanting to get to their destination quickly and in comfort. Well, now it’s a fashion statement.
TRAINERS AND DRESSES
Does it work? I think so. I like the juxtaposition of it. Floaty, airy and light, paired with a super sporty trainer, and it some how works. This is a look that was shown a lot at fashion week, it’s strong and oozes confidence. Plus, its sooooo comfy!
I think it would also be fun to try with with a more structured look. Maybe a more fitted dress or even midi skirt. The denim dress in one of my previous posts would also work really well with them. I think just make sure that the outfit and accessories are bold and girlie, it helps to even out the tomboyness.
KEEPING IT SAFE
Or are you more of a jeans and trainers type of girl? This one is lot more obvious and wearable, it might not have much of a punch but with a bubble trainer like the Nike Air VaporMax I’m sure people will still be looking. Having recently got into boxing classes, this trend is a dream for me as it keeps me from bringing another pair of shoes to change into.
