With jean’s you cant go wrong, teamed with a vintage tee, chunky jumper, or a dressy top for that classic; ‘I’m wearing jeans and a dressy top tonight’. Jeans are classic, they will never go out of style, and a good pair should last a lifetime.

There are a handful of different shapes out on the market, and the trick is to figure out what shape suits you best. Take into consideration your height, size, shape and lifestyle. It all makes a difference and contributes to what you need for the perfect pair.

I’m 5’1, on average a size uk 8, and I would say kind of curvy – I have hips and a bum. I’m a little bit of a tomboy, I prefer comfort, and love that relaxed Parisian style of never being over dressed. For me a straight leg jeans says all these things. First of all the shape is great, even though I’m petite they hug in at my waist as they are normally high waisted on me, and then skim straight down from my hips. It’s a cool style. One that is a little unflattering, but in a stylish oh so cool way, and flattering in all other kinds of ways. A look that is best worn with trainers or slides, although I wore a pair out on Friday night with my gingham heels, skinny vest and PVC mac.

A little curvier? Go for the flare, or the cropped flare. Even better, go for this style in corduroy. SO CHIC. And very A/W17. I bought a pair from Isabel Marant. True to size, uk 8. If you’re in between go up. They are also full length on my which isn’t a bad thing.

Super tall? First of all, congrats, secondly make your jeans extremes, wither super 70’s wide, or drain pipe skinny. That’s 70’s style is something I’ve been channeling the last month or so. It’s my winter style, all burnt oranges, with wide or flare legs and fur coats.

After that perfect Sunday pair? The boyfriend jean is the only pair to be seen in while enjoying brunch on a chilled weekend. Comfort is a must, with a slightly more cropped leg. Try not to go for too many rips, a simple style will last longer.
