TOP 16 NYE DRESSES

Feeling the pressure? It happens every year, for every occasion. My friend is currently panic shopping for a dress to wear to a wedding on Saturday, vowing to never let it get this late again. So for those also in the same boat for NYE, here’s my top 16 dresses to order now just in time for the party.

1

I am obsessed with this dress, its cool and covered (sexy does not mean naked), and it reminds me of The Vampires Wife, a super amazing designer that has a super high price tag to go with it. Pair with velvet heels and bag to finish off the luxe vibe.

A dress you’ll end up wearing to a million occasaions, it’s wedding, brithday, hoilday freidnly. Makeing the price tag totally workth it. Play with lenghts and add a floor skimming coat on top, plus a pair of glittery heels for spirit.

Yes a leather dress. Sexy, sassy, and surprisingly versatile. Remember to make sure you get a size thats figure hugging, as the leather will eventually stretch and you want this to nip in the waist. How to make it less Pretty Woman? Add a top underneath. I love this Topshop peasant style blouse, it again has that Vampires Wife style to it, plus with a pair of flat’s it brings a little Alexa Chung coolness.

For the ultimate glitter babe, no jewellery is needed, keep it editor cool with a pounch bag and heeled mules.

5

Dinner party to go to, an event before hand? This is the one. Love the juxtaposition of the mens style tux on top.

6

It would be rude of me not to add something from The Vampires Wife. I need this, I need everything from them.

7

Going for Isabel Marant? Be clever, buy the dress, and then get the highstreet version of the boots. It’s like you’re making money that way.

8

Another Isabel Marant look with only investing in one actual piece from the designer.

9

Another of my favourite designers, Alexa Chung. She’s incredible, effortlessly cool and this transfers 100% into her clothing. For the girls who want to be noticed only by other girls who are in the know.

This year I wore a burgundy long sleeve slip dress to a wedding and I was messaged a million times from people wanting to get their hands on the same one, unfortunately I borrowed it from a friend as Bec And Bridge no longer make that style. However with the same aspects, this dress is filling that void.

I’ve got this, it’s one of my NYE options, (you always need options! I buy a couple of looks and decide on the day). If I do go for it, Ill be wearing it with my suede over the knee boots, I love it when you can only see a tiny bit of thigh – I’ll be taking my dress up at the hem obviously. Being 5’1 and all that.

This outfit was part of yesterdays ‘Isabel Marant On A Budget’ post. The chicest sequinned playsuit I have ever seen. Floaty and minimal, it’s a playsuit to eat and dance in.

Another perfect one to make sure you get use out of those over the knee boots you invested it. This look is super laid back and confident. Remember if you’re a little peteit like me, get the dress taken up a little to show thigh. Amazonian goddess? No need to show skin, just let everything flow.

I love a midi dress, you know I do. No longer are they for the middle aged mums, housewives and teachers. Now they’re sexy, a little mysterious and carry a lot of power. Be the chic girl, go on, swan around all night like a new aged Belle looking for the Beast.

Is it pvc? Sequins? Where’s the shine coming from?! A cool dress that has the NYE elements without being in your face. One that you can bring out year after year.

I love Rixo. The girls are so lovely and cool. And I mean who doesn’t want to support upcoming British designers?! I have so many of their dresses now, I’ve worn them to birthdays, engagements, weddings, BBQ’s. They fit like a dream and have that amazing balance of cool/sexiness.
