TOP 6 OFFICE LOOKS

I know I don’t work in an office, but I remember the days, and I still hear it all too often from friends and family about that daunting Monday morning panic, when you have nothing to wear. You want to look cool, but hate spending money on ‘office clothes’, well most people wear work clothes 5 days a week, so you’re depriving yourself from that fashion feel good factor for 5 days out of 7?! Doesn’t make sense right!

So I’ve put together my Top 6 Office Looks, which combine to be the perfect mix and match wardrobe. Also most of the pieces are weekend appropriate too when styled well. For example, the checked blazer, worn with a silk dress on a Saturday night – a dream!

The pencil skirt doesnt have to be boring, it’s a classic office tool and can look pretty sexy and maybe if your friday day to night piece if worn right. It should be fitted, straight, and stop mid-calf. Also a split is a bonus. Can be worn with loafers during the day, save the heels for meetings and drinks.

The LBD is the ultimate staple, and this one featuring that wrap style which is uber flattering. Make it look super high end and wear it with knee high boots so no skin is on show, it’s a look icon Victoria Beckham is doing a lot of at the moment. Also edge it up with a checked blazer, which can be the perfect mix and match piece – with jeans and a white tee on the weekends.

Black doesn’t have to be boring, and a two piece is the perfect way to give it a little sass. Both pieces are a little oversized, but don’t worry, the slight heeled mules will give you that lift of confidence. Also if you’re feeling a little more daring, in the Summer team the look with a pair of flat slides, very Olsen twin-esq.

The suit! A real girl boss look! Every woman should own one, and save it for those days of intense meetings when you need to take control.

Colour doesn’t need to br bright, and lets face it, no one wants to stand out too much in the office of greys. Try warm autumnal colours, they’re perfect for the upcoming season.

Last years ‘must have’ is still going strong, the pinafore dress, and no longer is it for cute little school girls. Stay away from throwing a shirt underneath, this is what makes it a little questionable, think cool laid back t-shirts, thick tights and chunky flats. Also keep the jacket long to even out the look.
