I wrote a piece a couple of weeks ago about this being the last year of my 20’s, and how although my teen ‘life plan’ never happened, I’m incredibly happy and content, and dare I say, maybe even happier life turned out this way?

Well, todays the day, it’s officially my 29th year. And with a little struggle of a week, maybe it’s that unnecessary age panic, I’ve decided to start my year with some positive, and also let’s call them enlightening thoughts.

  • When something goes wrong, I will not keep talking about it. Instead I will deal with it and cut that negative cycle.
  • I will not be too available (4 friends cancelling on me in 5 days, 5 days!)
  • I have an amazing family and close friends, make them my priority, give them my time.
  • I will see the good before the bad.
  • Life is too short, be happy.
  • Eat it.
  • Make my life plan, throw it away.
  • Make my career plan, laminate it.
  • Put my phone away during dinner, now is the time, face to face.
  • Make sure I take in those special moments, capture them if possible.
  • Breathe, nothing is ever that bad, look at the subject from a different angle, maybe leave it a little and come back to it.
  • No more comparing. Everyone is on their own path and no two are the same.
  • I look the way I look, that is it.
  • When people say something out of line, pull them up on it but in an open way.
  • Do not be passive aggressive.
  • Pull up passive aggressive people.
  • Be more assertive.
  • Try not to care about comments from the people who don’t matter to me.
  • When people write bad things online, they are trolls, laugh.
  • Only hang with people who make me feel good.
  • Be present. Time is flying.
