I don’t think many people do this, but I do, I start my outfit with the shoes first. Yes, I chose the shoe, trainer, heel, slide first, this is how you can tell exactly what mood I’m in, they’re a total give away. A trainer will tell you that I’m in a super relaxed mood, and maybe I have a busy day ahead. A slide will say that I’m having a good sassy day, day’s filled of brunch with my pals. While a heel will tell you that I’m heading out, I want wine, and it’s going to be a good night of intense laughter and no social media.
With shoes being such a key factor in my dressing, I always start a season with buying a couple of pairs that I know will mix and match with my new wardrobe. A shoe for every day, occasion and mood. With that being said I am going to talk today about two new pairs from British cult brand Russell & Bromley. The Italian made shoes are known for their impeccable quality and design, a label we all love because we trust them. So I therefor trusted them to support two of my main looks this Summer;
You know I love to dress an outfit down, underdressed never overdressed (I think I write that in every post now). Anyways, trainers are the best way to do that, and there’s actually a huge art to it. It’s difficult to get that sportsluxe look, I hear a-lot of people complaining that they end up looking a little scruffy, and the key to eliminating that is in the fabrics. Rich, luxurious fabrics are what you want when doing this trend, and these Juliette dark green suede trainers tick all the boxes. All types of accessories matter with such a minimal chic look, so that includes the bag too. Here I’ve chosen the Madeline black bucket bag, one that’s the perfect day to night companion. The monochrome leathers add a little fierceness to the look, however its also that type of piece that you can adapt to any style. Also the simple bucket style cut is a huge seasonal trend, it just has that nonchalant vibe to it, real Parisian and cool.
I also said that I was going to go back to basics more this season, so that encouraged my second purchase, the white court. Now this white court has had a little update, in the form of a very simple sling back. Yes adding a sling back to the Sleeksling court has totally transformed it, no longer looking like we’re off to the office in a fitted grey pencil skirt, the court has been reborn and these demand you to wear them casually on nights out. Yes you know those ‘dressy cas’ invites, this is the look. Keep the heels chic and minimal, with basics covering the rest of you.
Also note that I went for a 4 in the trainers and my true size, a 3.5 in the heels.
