WHAT TO WEAR IN LAKE COMO

Lake Como was last week, and it was a huge tick off the list of dream places to visit in my lifetime. Somewhere that just oozes style and romance, it completely blew out any expectations I had. It was even more beautiful, extravagant yet rustic, and oh so romantic. This is the type of place you want to go on your honeymoon, anniversary, or well just any time with someone you love so you can stroll hand in hand down the beautiful cobbled streets. And if you are lucky enough to head there, I’ve written a little list for you of what type of things you’re going to want to pack for it:

THE STYLE

Lake Como is sophisticated Italian style at its best. Think super chic, light colours, dramatic shapes. It’s home to George Clooney and his stunning wife Amal so that says it all.

LIGHT COLOURS

So I would stay super elegant and chic. Think all one tone outfits. Lots of white, cream, beige. Maybe even a red in there.

THAT WOW OUTFIT

This is where you can wear that one incredible piece you’ve had collecting dust in your wardrobe. Whether maxi or midi, you want it to be a showstopper, and my Zimmerman set fitted in perfectly.

ITS ALL IN THE ACCESSORIES

With those simple tonal looks it’s all about the accessories, lots of cat eye sunglasses, natural wicker bags and micro minis for dinner. The shoes should also stand out, but for minimal reasons, and remember I’m a huge fan of teaming super dressey looks with flat shoes, just make sure they’re in luxurious fabrics like my burgundy silk The Row slides, they’re the perfect evening flat.

WHERE I STAYED

We stayed at the Villa Sola Cabiati which is part of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo a further 10 minute stroll down the road. It is luxury at it’s finest! A villa which sleeps up to 12 people, with three floors, a heated pool, your’ll also get a 24/7 butler and private chef. It’s starts at £10,000 a night, minimum stay for three nights, yes it’s expensive, but I will never ever be somewhere as incredible as this place again. It’s somewhere I envision getting married (which people do!) Or heading back in 10 years time with my family for a long lavish weekend of fun and food by the pool.
