It’s bank holiday weekend! Wohooooo. Well its all fun until you cant agree on what to eat, one of you’s been there a million times, the other loves that area though…. You need new places to go, and after I wrote a little piece with Sheerluxe last month about my favourite places in London for various things, I’ve decided to dedicate a whole piece to my favourite eateries in London.
FLOTSAM & JETSAM – Around South West London? Travel a little to Wandsworth Common for the best Antipodean-style all day breakfast (well till 4pm)
FOXLOW – There’s a Foxlow in most areas, but we often go to the Balham one and ended up there hungover the other morning in need of comfort food. It was probably the best breakfast I’ve had in a very very very long time! Basically what hangover dreams are made off. Get the full English. Plus the hash brown.
MILK – Another Balham baby. There’s always a que so be prepared.
GRANGER & CO – Instagram heaven, go for the chairs even. The avocado salsa is amazing, I always get it with rye and scrambled eggs. Located in various places around London.
THE GOOD EGG – One of the newest kids on the block, Kingly Court’s block that is. Warm, hearty meals, like the Brisket Hash.
WULF & LAMB – My new favourite, and I’ve only been once! It’s the one to take that friend who’s a vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, everything free babe. I need to go back for their Wulf Pie. Just off Sloane Square.
MORTIMER HOUSE – The cool new hangout, so cool most people still don’t know about it yet. The deco is insane, basically what I wish my flat looked like. Note the food is delicious but small, order an extra.
APRILS CAFE – Around Kings Road? Aprils is located within Boutique 1 (the ultimate high fashion shopping destination) but it also has its own garden in the back, full of huge plants and terracotta pots. Super relaxed and instagramable.
LE BAB – For sure book, but once you’re there its a dream,. Super small and intimate, the perfect place for a long overdue catch up with a pal, with wine.
GOOD EARTH – The best Chinese I have ever had. In Wandsworth Common, on Bellevue Road. The Kung Pow Chicken is to die for, plus the duck pancakes.
TSUNAMI – Sushi lovers have to travel to Clapham for this. A little pricey but nothing compared to the prices at Nobu or Novikov. The volcano rolls are incredible. I often get two rounds, for myself.
DISHOOM – The one place that is good for every meal! Get the naan wraps at breakfast, and black daal for lunch/dinner. Everything is amazing. Also the place is like going back to my nans house, total British Asian of the 90’s. They have a few locations, but theres one just by Carnaby Street which is useful.
