GOING BASIC WITH BODEN

The rumours are true, basic is best. A white tee will never go out of style, and a good fitting pair of jeans will carry you through years of wear. It’s one of my favourite looks, a look that is actually pretty sexy in that Parisian, confident and chic way. Yes this will be a look that I will go back to time after time, and although I will never second guess the perfect duo, I will however challenge the source.

This week I headed to Boden, to figure out what this London giant has in the way of the perfect basics.

First of all, the white tee. There’s many factors that come into picking the perfect tee; the material, fit and wear. Yes, I’m that person that will have to wear a t-shirt all day long to see how I truly feel about it. And, well, I’ve worn it three time since this day. The fabric is light and soft, however still stiff enough that the fabric doesn’t cling to your boobs or stomach. Also, the sleeve length is uber flattering and the length is great to tuck in or leave out – please note I went one size bigger in this.

Then it’s the jeans. Having recently been into more luxe brands for denim, I didn’t think my head would turn anytime soon. But then I came across these dark denim, slightly high-waisted, cropped flared jeans. A combination I had been looking for, for some time now.

They felt amazing on, a pair that could be considered as your comfy ones, worn with these trainers, but perfect with a gold sandal for a night out. With the denim having a little stretch to them, I went one size down, although I should have gone two sizes down. Also, and this is a massive plus, they come in petite!
