THIRSTY SKIN

At the beginning of this year I went for a skin consultation at Skin Works (one of my favourite places!) and my skin worries were confirmed, my skin was very dehydrated. The cold weather, at home heating, illness, and honestly lack of skin routine had left my skin dry and dull. And it showed. Since then and while I’ve been luckily enough to isolate at home, I’ve been doing my best to keep my skin hydrated with the following – and have noticed a difference already!

  1. The beauty Chef

Introduced to me by Skin Works post facial, I’ve now become obsessed! Leading with the philosophy that ‘beauty begins in the belly’, the mix of vitamins and minimals keep your gut balanced. At the moment I’m taking both the Hydration Inner Beauty Boost and the Glow Inner Beauty Powder every morning. It tastes delicious and I know that it’s helping to brighten my skin again – win win.

2. Sarah Chapman’s Intense Hydrating Booster

I’ve had this for a while but have only recently become obsessed with it, and thats probably because I had too many products at one time. It’s important to work out exactly what your skin is in need of, and then select the right product to tackle that issue. My skin needs often change due to seasons/situations, and for the moment I know that its it need of the moisture and this is the dream product. I use it every night after I have washed, cleansed, and toned. The hyaluronic acid helps to plump those fine lines, leaving the skin more youthful looking and dewy .

3. Estee Lauder’s Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask

The mask of all masks! This foil sheet helps to lock in moisture as it ‘immerses the skin in a double dose of Advanced Night Repair Serum’s powerful moisture magnet’. I save these for a Sunday afternoon, while watching a film with a cup of tea.

4. Water

The most obvious tip, but honestly, with the amount of tea or wine (time dependant) I’m drinking I can often forget how much I’ve drank. 2 litres daily is the recommended amount, and I’ve found it a lot easier to keep track with these water bottles. Simple but effective, and probably the best birthday present I’ve ever received!

5. La Mer Moisturising Cream

Creme De La Mer (Cream of the sea), moisturisers the driest of skins! Their velvety texture locks in moisture, keeping it hydrated and dewy all day long – perfect for those non make up day.

6. Estée Lauder Micro Essence Mist

I keep this by my laptop so during the day I can easily spray a ‘veil of hydration’ over the skin whenever I’m feeling a little dull. It keeps the skin balanced and fresh.
