Like you, I’m here to support BLACK LIVES MATTER, and how we can do this within the fashion sector is by pioneering Black owned fashion brands. While fashion wont fix the world, buying from Black owned companies is a way to show your support and help lift them to the level they should have always been in.
Below is an edit of 7 chic brands I’m loving, all founded by POC. Some I have known and been fanning over for years, like Jade Swim, and some are exciting new finds.
Jade Swim are a must-have for the minimalists out there in search of swimwear. A range of cleverly cut basics, in flattering a material, which flatter the body. Personally Jade Swim is one of my favourite swimwear brands, and with them bringing out new colour-ways each season I cant help but keep adding to my collection.
Also for those who like a tiny bikini bottom, Jade do the most flattering, almost thong pant – the way it curves around your bum instead of cutting the shape off, I love them!
During the Summer months, all I want to wear is linen. The breathable fabric is light and airy, and it holds that very laid back and effortless vibe, which I strive for. For those also just as obsessed, head to Mie for linen beauties to carry you through the warmer months. The Gozo dress will be my next picnic in the park look.
TOVE screams one word very loudly: effortless. Their designs are so beautifully simple, cleverly cut, and absolutely timeless. This is where clever shopping really takes it’s form – investing in a dress you can wear for years and years to come.
They also design an exclusive collection for Net-A-Porter, and the up coming season is full of sunshine must haves! Keep an eye out.
This luxury footwear brand Brother V is full of sassy shoes that would give Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money. Their wooden and crochet heels are firmly on my list.
Fe Noel is a new find for myself, and now I’m wondering what I would have done if I never came across them. I’m obsessed particularly with their linen wrap shirts which come with a matching belt/purse, an item I know I’ll wear over and over again.
