Even a minimalist needs a little trend in her wardrobe every now and then. But that doesn’t mean that you’re a traitor to your signature style or have just fallen into the fast fashion hole, actually it’s the total opposite. There’s a few trends that do come round year after year, and one of the main ones is that laid back but vibrant Ibiza style. Pure effortless and fun boho prints and colour that can really uplift your mood as well as your monochrome wardrobe.

Personally I’ve invested in a few boho statement pieces over the years, like the suede fringe jacket and various basket bags – bringing them out year after year and totally living in them the entire Summer. These are actually two items I would probably recommend the most, purely because I really have got so much wear out of them. The suede jacket is an investment piece, but it’s one that really will show you how importance of cost per wear. And basket bags have the power to completely transform your look without diving head first into the trend.

A lot of boho pieces can also look pretty chic, like the paisley printed two-piece. Team it with Arizona Love bandana sandals by day and heeled clogs by night. Similarly the midi skirt is a great way to get that effortless bohemian vibe. At the moment I wear a lot of mine with oversized linen shirts, but if I was to go all the way, I’d get a little embroidered or patterned blouse, and would accessories with a stack of bracelets. Do also remember that boho doesn’t have to mean colour, sometimes a play on textures in whites and beiges will give you that same vibe, and of course for a minimalist like me, it keeps the palette clean.

Accessories are a great way to try something a little out of the comfort zone. If you’re a minimalist like me why not grab a simple white linen dress and team it with a colourful woven bag and some suede Birkenstocks. Baby steps.
