When styling a room, I think it’s really important to start with the big things first. The side unit, sofa, coffee table; these are things which are going to take centre stage, the ones that ultimately create what vibe that space takes. Whilst my style has always been pretty simple, that doesn’t mean that simple is boring, its actually far from it, especially when it comes to interiors. A simple wooden side-board unit packs a big punch in an open and neutral room, the natural grain will add depth, as well as becoming a focal point for that glass Murano lamp you’ve had your eye on. Also linen sofas and boucle statement chairs seem to be going nowhere this season.
Currently in the mist of decorating our new home, I’m sticking to our organic vibe, lots of wood, linen and neutrals. Also our honeymoon to Sublime Comporta has heavily influenced us to go even further with that theme, and really to create a villa vibe for our little hidden London house.
Below is an edit of pieces I think make a real big impact in the most simple way, and all are pieces I would love to have here at the new place – to be shown very soon!
