I love the summer, but there is nothing like the start of Fall. Rich tones, patterns and layered fabrics, this is the season to really show off your personal style. And at the beginning of each season I always start with the accessories, they’re the best way to start working your way into the new season, whilst being able to keep on your summer clothes until it gets a little cooler.
This time last year I invested in the small Loewe Puzzle. I went back and forth on this purchase for weeks, finally going with my gut just in time for my first post-natal outing. This bag made me fall in love with the ease a hands free bag brings, which is vital whilst juggling baby. That’s one of the key points when thinking about a new investment, the latest ‘it’ bag will only get you so far, you need to know that it will work for your lifestyle. I would also advice to stay away from black if you’re after a hero piece, I wore my green puzzle everyday as the tone went perfectly with my wardrobes earthy colour palette.

When thinking about shoes, I love that jumper, jeans and sandals vibe in September/October. The weathers still warm enough to get away with it, and I find that balance of knitwear and a semi barefoot really chic.

If you’re already excited by the site of a chunky leather boot, a below the knee style is the perfect partner for pre-fall dresses. They work with dresses and skirts of all lengths, and when the Winter does come in, go basic with leggings or tuck in your jeans. I think huge masculine coats, leggings and boots are going to have a moment this year.
There is no easier way of updating your look than with a new pair of sunnies. Go for flattering pinky browns with a chunky acetate edge. At the moment I’m really into Velvet Canyon – a new brand to NET-A-PORTER.
