GOING BOLD FOR A/W22 WITH HARRODS

Two weeks ago I ventured to Harrods in search of new A/W pieces to get me excited for the new season. I wanted to try on new shapes, feel the fabrics, and be a little more creative this season. What I didn’t expect was to be drawn to full on colour, print and lots of pillow like accessories. It seams my muted wardrobe is in need of a little life, and whilst I still stand by my minimalistic style, I think it has evolved to more of a feeling, than a rule.

Keeping the looks still simple, but more in a blocked way; a bright knitted jumper with relaxed denim. Or an iridescent coat with soft layers. I only wear what I feel comfortable in, I have no time to be pulling things around, or holding a skirt in place. And I think that’s a great thing to remember when making investment purchases; ‘does it work for your lifestyle?’ These somewhat louder pieces are more out there, but the shapes are classic, and they work with my working wardrobe so I know I’ll get the wear out of them. Cost per wear is very important!

This type of dressing feels very freeing, almost like a ‘yes I’m back’ (although I didn’t go anywhere). It’s a full on statement to the world, showing my personality and confidence in what I’m choosing to wear. So for this season I would say out with the rules. Rules just seem so irrelevant now, we’ve moved on from those days. It’s about what feels good for you, and I can see a-lot more people taking more risks with their clothing this season. It’s all about self-expression.
