WHAT TO WEAR WHEN HOSTING A DINNER PARTY

Dinner party dressing is quickly becoming my favourite type of event to dress up for. You don’t have to worry about uncomfortable heels and tiny handbags, which only hold your lipstick. You can go as comfortable as you want, or more importantly for this season, you can go as OTT as you like. From sequins to cut out knitwear and silky sets, AW22 is all about full-on joyful dressing. So I’ve teamed up with Selfridges (paid partnership), the destination for wow shopping, to pull my favourite looks to invest in.

This season is about celebrating your individual tastes, pieces that represent you and your personality. And if you’re anything like me and comfort is always on the top of your mind, head to Christopher Esber for deconstructed knitted dresses you can wear multiple ways. Intriguing cut outs and stand out stone embellishment, for me this is a designer which blends chic and innovative design, with surprising comfort.

Another designer featuring cut-out evening-wear this season is Nensi Dojaka. The brand has been worn by the most iconic fashion it girls, and is going from strength to strength with their collections. Definitely the brand to watch.

However if you’re ever in doubt, you can never go wrong with Toteme or Tove. These two brands have that minimal vibe that will work for any occasion. The kind of dress you can wear a hundred times, a hundred different ways.

If you do have to leave the house, it might be time to invest in those cult leather and shearling coats you haven’t stopped admiring. By Saks Potts, the large shearling cuff and collar, a-line leather style is a trade mark design for them. The style never goes into hybination, or discount (which makes me happier about the investment – knowing it will always keep its value).
