ALL ABOUT THE TOP

For once, this season my working wardrobe is full of trouser options and long skirts, but I’ve found myself wearing the same tops over and over again. Yes cost per wear is important, and something I encourage is to wear your investments until they fall apart, or you decide to pass them on, but I need a few others to throw into the mix. There’s a real formula to picking tops which you can wear for multiple occasions, like I said cost per wear is important so you need to be able to wear these daily. Realistic shopping is something I am big on, I need to know these items will work with me and my lifestyle. Having a few special pieces in the wardrobe is lovely, but I want to be able to show them off.

So in honour of the fool-proof ‘nice jeans and a top’ combo, in collaboration with NET-A-PORTER I have created the below edit of life worthy tops to add to your wardrobe this season.

Starting with my favourite, this Cecilie Bahnsen top is a real feel good moment. That vibrant mimosa colour surprisingly goes with so many colours, and the floaty layer around the bust combined with those spaghetti straps is extremely flattering. It also comes in white for those looking for something a little more on the chilled side. Teamed with my Faithfull The Brand linen trousers and The Row sandals, this is my ideal ‘easy look’ which I’ll be wearing day to night when around London and on holiday. Also those The Row sandals are still my favourite go-to’s! They’re they perfect option for people like me who hate a heel. These are my going out shoe (as-well as all day of course).

‘Jeans and a nice top’ is a fool proof equation, and I need that most mornings
